The safety and durability of the Mazda brand was recently put to the test in an unfortunate way when Thomas and Kelly Cushman, a couple from Shelby, OH, found themselves caught in an unexpected tornado on the route to their church. The winds of the Tornado caused their Mazda CX-5 to become airborne and flung it yards away before the SUV crash landed in a field and rolled a few times before finally settling on the ground. While their Mazda was ultimately totaled by the incident, the Cushmans themselves were relatively unharmed with mostly superficial bruises and cuts.
