2023 MX-30 EV
The Mazda MX-30 EV is the first electric car to come from Mazda. The crossover-style vehicle has lots of eco-friendly materials in the cabin and an impressive cargo area. The MX-30 arrived in 2022 as a brand-new model, and it carries over to 2023 without any significant changes. Here's a look at some of the features and equipment you can get with the 2023 Mazda MX-30 EV.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The MX-30 EV shares a platform with the Mazda3 and CX-30. It fits into the compact SUV market and has a hinged liftgate that opens up to the cargo area. The Base MX-30 comes with 18-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, and a sunroof. it also has unique Freestyle doors, which are small rear-hinged doors for the rear seat passengers. A step up to the Premium Plus adds a unique finish to the 18-inch wheels, keyless entry, and some added exterior color options.
Engine (Power)
Power for both MX-30 EV models comes from an 81-kW electric motor that uses a 35.5-kWh battery pack. These work together to generate 143 horsepower and get 200 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the front wheels. The motor has plenty of power for propelling the small Mazda around town and will get up to 60 mph in just over eight seconds.
Performance
One of the best things about the MX-30 EV is its handling. It has a responsive steering system and fun driving dynamics. With a full charge, it can go up to 100 miles, making it ideal for urban driving. When it's time to charge up, you can use a standard AC power outlet or a faster DC charger.
Interior
There's room for five people in the MX-30, and the cabin has a mix of natural and sustainable materials from the fabric upholstery made from recycled plastic bottles and cork. The floating center console means there's more space for storage, and a digital screen has the climate controls. The Base has a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. Stepping up to the Premium Plus adds a heated steering wheel.
Technology in the MX-30 includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster. The Premium Plus has a 12-speaker Bose stereo system, and it comes with three months of complimentary satellite radio.
Safety Features
Every Mazda MX-30 EV has a host of driver aids to make time on the road safer. The list includes forward collision warning, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and rear parking sensors. It also has lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Rear automatic braking is another standard safety system, along with a head-up display. You'll get additional driving aids with the Premium Plus. This model adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, front-cross traffic warning, and a blind-spot assist system. This system will automatically steer the MX-30 back into its lane if you try to change lanes when there is a vehicle in your blind spot.
