Meet the 2023 Mazda CX-5
The Mazda CX-5 is ideal for young professionals or parents looking for an athletic vehicle with tons of luxury features and cargo space to handle whatever life may throw at you. With a powerful engine under the hood, advanced safety features, and a high-quality and comfortable interior, Mazda has made an SUV that is easy to love.
What’s New for 2023?
There have not been any major changes to the CX-5 for this year. A new glossy white finish is available for the model, however, it is worth noting that Mazda released the CX-50 for the 2023 model year, which is a slightly longer, wider, and lower version of the CX-5 that shares a lot of the same parts and manufacturing under the hood.
Specs and Features of the CX-5
Engine and Performance
The CX-5 comes standard with a 187-horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder engine that provides an athletic feel behind the wheel but can be upgraded to a 256-horsepower turbo four-cylinder for some added power. Both engines come in AWD.
The base-level engine enjoys average fuel efficiency ratings of 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while the turbocharged engine clocks in at 22 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway.
Interior and Technology
The center console of the CX-5 is dominated by a massive 10.3-inch touchscreen display, which also has physical knobs and buttons to help make it easier to adjust without looking. Steering wheel buttons are also standard across trim levels, which helps reduce the risk of distracted driving, as does the included voice command system.
Notably, the CX-5 comes with integration with Mazda’s connected services, which allow for you to access your car with your smartphone to start it remotely, manage vehicle functions and track the location of your car. A subscription-based WiFi hotspot service is also available to help you stay connected while on the move.
Safety Features
Mazda’s suite of safety and driver assistance features comes standard across all trim levels of the CX-5. This includes standard features like blind spot monitoring, front pedestrian detection with integrated automatic braking, lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist functions, and hill start assist to help keep you safe while on the go.
